Protect Your Skin From The Weather...Naturally!

The skin on your face, throat and hands is very sensitive and can be damaged when constantly exposed to the wind, the sun, pollution and extreme temperature changes.

These environmental factors make the skin dry, prone to cracks and broken capillaries., Fortunately, you can make protective cosmetic creams to help shield your skin; the creams help to maintain the acid mantle, which is the acidic, protective coating that guards the skin against irritation and bacterial growth, If you skin type is normal, protect it from the elements with an OIL BASED CREAM (see recipes below). However, if you have dry skin, protect it against further wind and sun damage with a hydration, WATER BASED Emulsion. (recipe below)

Oil-Based Cream
2 tbsp sweet almond oil
2 tbsp jojoba
1 1/2 tsp beeswax
10 drops of either German-Chamomile, Calendula, or carrot seed oil (choose one)

Heat the sweet almond oil, jojoba and beeswax in a double boiler. Just until the beeswax is melted. Mix well. Add the final essential oil then pour the mixture into a 2 oz cosmetic jar. the cream can be stored for up to 1 yr in a cool dry place.

Water Based Cream
1 tbsp grape-seed oil
1 tbsp jojoba oil
1 tsp beeswax
2 tsp rose water
1/4 tsp borax
heat the oils and beeswax in a double boiler just until the beeswax is meter. In a separate saucepan or pot, heat the rose water then stir in the borax until it is dissolved, When the oil mixture and water mixture are the same temperature, whisk the water mixture into the oil, Store the cream in a 2 oz jar for up to 1 month in a cool place. or refrigerate.

You can adapt lotions for your skin type using the following recipes which are made for 2 oz creams

NORMAL SKIN
10 drops vitamin A oil
10 drops vitamin E oil
5 drops orange essential oil

DRY SKIN
10 drops Calendula oil
15 drops Aloe Vera concentrate
2 drops coriander-seed essential oil

FOR BROKEN CAPILLARIES
10 drops German-Chamomile Oil or 10 drops Vitamin E Oil or 10 drops Blue-Cypress Essential oil
(choose one)

Tip of The Trade: To make home-made natural cosmetics last longer, add jojoba oil, which is a liquid wax and therefore does not go rancid!

About Eucalyptus Essential Oil

About Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Picture
Summer is finished for the year and Fall is here. As the seasons change, so does our body and our immune system. When you or a loved one start to show signs of those "Changing Season Allergies" or comes down with the Winter Flu, Eucalyptus is a great essential oil to have in your Natural Remedy First Aid Box!
Eucalyptus Essential Oil is an anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, decongestant, deodorant, antiseptic, antibacterial, stimulating, and other medicinal qualities. But Eucalyptus Oil does not only help with allergies, colds and the flu! Let me tell you more about this wonderful and popular essential oil!  Read More and Learn More!
Picture
Suffering from Allergies or Influenza?
Respiratory problems: Eucalyptus essential oil is effective for treating a number of respiratory problems including cold, cough, runny nose, sore throat, asthma, nasal congestion, bronchitis and sinusitis.
Eucalyptus oil is antibacterial, anti-fungal, antimicrobial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and decongestant in nature, which makes it a good ingredient in many medicines that treat respiratory problems.
Gargles of eucalyptus oil mixed with warm water are consistently effective in treating sore throats.
Cleansing Wounds: Eucalyptus oil is used for healing wounds, ulcers, burns, cuts, abrasions and sores. It is also an effective salve for insect bites and stings. Furthermore, besides soothing the affected area, it also protects the open wound or irritated area from developing infections from microbial activity and exposure to the air.

Mental Exhaustion: Eucalyptus is a stimulating oil, which means it can help people with dis-orders that cause sluggishness and tiredness. It helps to remove exhaustion and mental sluggishness and rejuvenates the spirits of the sick.
It can also be effective in the treatment of stress and mental disorders.
Since Eucalyptus Oil is a vasodilator, which means it opens the blood vessels and helps circulation, eucalyptus essential oil is commonly used to stimulate mental activity and increase blood flow to the brain.
Picture
Feeling Sluggish?

Lice: Due to its well-known qualities as a bug repellent and natural pesticide, it is frequently used as a natural treatment of lice. Some of the mainstream treatments of lice can be very severe and damaging to the hair, as well as packed with dangerous chemicals that you don’t want being absorbed into your skin, so combing a few drops of eucalyptus oil through a lice-infested head is a much better and healthier solution.

Muscle pain: If you are experiencing joint and muscle pain, massaging eucalyptus oil on the surface of the skin helps to relieve stress and pain. The volatile eucalyptus oil is analgesic and anti-inflammatory in nature. Therefore it is often recommended to patients suffering from rheumatism, lumbago, sprained ligaments and tendons, stiff muscles, aches, fibrosis and even nerve pain. The oil should be massaged in a circular motion on the affected areas of the body.
Picture
Are you suffering from Chronic Pain?
Intestinal germs: Eucalyptus oil is a vermifuge and is frequently employed to remove germs in the intestine. Studies have shown that ingesting eucalyptus oil can deter many of the bacterial, microbial, and parasitic conditions that arise in the various parts of the body, particularly susceptible areas like the colon and intestine.

Skin care: Eucalyptus oil is often applied topically to treat skin infections.

Diabetes: When ingested, eucalyptus oil can help control blood sugar. Its properties as a
vasodilator, mentioned above, mean that the entire body benefits from the increase in blood circulation. Diabetic patients commonly suffer from lack of good circulation, and it can be very dangerous, even resulting in amputation or death. Therefore, it is a good idea to frequently massage eucalyptus oil onto the skin topically, and also inhale it as a vapor to ease the constriction of the blood vessels. For best results, massage it onto the skin after a show, which also has vasodilating and relaxing qualities that will benefit diabetics.

Fever: Eucalyptus oil is also used for treating fever and reducing body temperature. This is why one of the common names of eucalyptus oil is “fever oil”. It works well when combined with peppermint oil and sprayed on the body as a mixture of a deodorant and a temperature reducer.

Other benefits of eucalyptus oil include the following:

Room freshener: The antiseptic and deodorant nature of eucalyptus oil makes it a perfect room freshener for hospitals. It also kills bacteria and germs in the air, keeping the environment of the rooms clean and sterilized.

Soaps: Eucalyptus oil is frequently used in soaps, detergents and household cleaners. This is primarily due to its pleasant aroma and effect as a deodorant, antibacterial, antiseptic, and antimicrobial agent.

WARNING:
There are some dangers of taking too much eucalyptus oil, because when taken in large quantities, eucalyptus oil can be toxic. It may also interfere with other homeopathic treatments. Also, for certain people with allergic sensitivities, eucalyptus essential oil might be cause  airborne contact dermatitis, which can be very uncomfortable, or even dangerous. Before beginning any new intensive alternative medical treatment, consult your doctor or licensed practitioner for advice, or an allergy test. Always perform a patch test before using any new remedies and never use essential oils on babies or infants without the permission of a licensed treating physician

essential oils-ebay

Essential Oils hold different properties and are used for healing purposes. Fragrance Oils do not hold the same properties as Essential Oils. Pets can be treated with natural oils but there are only specific oils and dosages (dilution ratios)that an animals body can handle.
The essential oils that can be used on pets are different than humans. Please do not use any product on your animals until you speak with your vet or a certified practitioner! Always be sure that your essential oils are diluted before using them on the skin. (They can also be called synergies or blended oils.)
PETS AND ESSENTIAL OILS
Always use 100% pure essential oils in your blends or be sure that where you are purchasing them, they should say somewhere on the label “100% pure essential oils“.
DO NOT USE  ESSENTIAL OILS OR FRAGRANCE OILS ON PETS WITHOUT SPEAKING TO A LICENSED OR CERTIFIED AROMATHERAPIST!

Do not use oils on your pet! especially babies!
Do not use oils on your pet! especially babies!

Dogs & cats can smell 14 times stronger than a human. There are no healing properties in FRAGRANCE OILS. Fragrance Oils are synthetic and do not serve any purpose except for scent.  Placing essential oils or fragrance oils on your pet, can be fatal if the dilution ratio is not correct. Please seek assistance from a licensed or certified Aromatherapist.
